U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Highlights the U.S.-China Clean Energy Research Center Building Energy Efficiency (CERC-BEE) in their Special Edition of USGBC+ Magazine
In the October 2017 Special EditionofUSGBC+ Magazine, the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) highlights the U.S.-China Clean Energy Research Center Building Energy Efficiency (CERC-BEE) program.
The article, “Advocating for Change – China makes its mark on the world of sustainability,” by Elizabeth Beardsley. The article discusses the value USGBC places on CERC-BEE for its collaborative research and development (R&D) with U.S. and Chinese companies – many of which are also USGBC members, such as Johnson Controls, Inc. (JCI) United Technologies Corporation (UTC), Disney, Dow Chemical, Saint-Gobain, and Citibank – and to accelerate the commercialization of advanced building energy efficiency technologies, such as next-generation architectural precast insulated walls.
USGBC, a membership-based non-profit organization that promotes sustainability in building design, construction, and operation, joined the CERC-BEE Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) in July 2017. Through CERC-BEE, the USGBC Advocacy Team is working with researchers at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) on projects to develop and test innovative building performance benchmarking tools that increase demand for CERC-BEE technologies.
